Vintage Wooden Toucan Bird Ashtray Hand Painted Folk Art Trinket Dish

A charming vintage-style wooden ashtray featuring a colourful hand-painted toucan bird perched on the edge. The bird has been carved from wood and decorated with vibrant shades of orange, yellow, red, turquoise and black, with intricate geometric patterns and a distinctive long, curved beak. The rectangular wooden base features a smooth, circular recessed bowl with two cigarette rests, making it both a practical ashtray and an unusual decorative piece. The colourful design has a wonderful folk-art character, possibly inspired by traditional Latin American craftsmanship. Its exact age and country of origin are unknown, although it has the appearance of a vintage tourist or handicraft souvenir. No longer limited to its original purpose, it would also make a lovely little trinket dish or decorative ornament for anyone who enjoys quirky vintage accessories, colourful bird figures or folk art. Condition: Good pre-owned condition with visible signs of age and use, including some surface scratches, rubbing to the painted decoration and general wear to the wooden base. These add to its rustic character. Please examine the photographs carefully as they form part of the description. Measures approx. H: 9.0cm x W: 10.0cm Our items are always packed well for transport.
